Writing
(mine & thine)

My writing:

I always have more than one project going. This gives me flexibility if the muse doesn't cooperate on one project, I can work on another. My most recent book, Breakfast in Palestine is a food memoir. It will be followed by another, tentatively called Supper Under Occupation.
I am also writing a less serious novel that I started during NaNoWriMo last year. I'm thinking of two possible endings and thinking of ways to present both. I love a challenge.
A little farther down the road—maybe serializing a book as a podcast. It might be fun.

Your writing:

Writers are like mountain climbers. We try to help each other reach the summit—a good book. We give tips, critique, beta read, and discuss the craft. Just as there is always another mountain to climb, there is always something new to learn about writing. Mechanics, character development, plotting, the list is endless.
What are you writing about? Finding snags along the way? Join the conversation on my
Facebook page, or leave a comment on my blog.

Helping hands:

My blog Dixie Helps Writers has information for writers at all levels. You're sure to find something useful. Feel free to suggest topics of interest to you.
I founded S & H Publishing, Inc. to give another outlet to writers who reached the good book summit and found it a forbidding landscape. As another rope to help guide your climb, I compiled a few resources that I found useful.
As you work on your own craft, never stop reading. Stephen King said, "If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write." Read widely and include some new writers. Always leave reviews. Writers will always be more inclined to lend a helping hand if you reach out to them first. Make connections.
